APPOINTMENT OF NEW CEO OF FINANCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTRE

(9 April 2025) – Financial Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) announced the appointment of Mr. Fok Wing Kuen (霍永權) as Chief Executive Officer and Director for a two-year term with effect from 7 April 2025.

Mr. Fok is a solicitor by training. He worked in the litigation department of a private law firm for over 17 years, before he joined The Law Society of Hong Kong in 2012. He was promoted to the Director of Practitioners Affairs in 2013, and he was in 2022 further promoted to the post of Deputy Secretary General of The Law Society.

Whilst in private practice, Mr. Fok has been helping clients and parties to resolve their disputes not only by litigation, but also by mediation, arbitration and other modes of dispute resolutions. When he was working in the Law Society, he assisted the Council of The Law Society in policy deliberations on among other things alternative dispute resolutions for Hong Kong. With his experience and legal knowledge on dispute resolution processes, Mr. Fok is to steer the FDRC in carrying out its unique and important roles in resolving monetary disputes of customers with financial institutions.

Meanwhile, FDRC announced the retirement of Ms. Anna Koo Kar-chun (顧家珍) and her cessation of duties as Chief Executive Officer and Director upon expiry of the appointment term on 31 March 2025.  FDRC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Koo for her invaluable devotion and sterling leadership in the past two years.
