Dispute Resolution Manager
Job Description
- Leads and manages the dispute resolution team in providing services for the FDRC.
- Builds and enhances the team's overall capability to ensure quality and consistency in service delivery. Reviews and proposes plans and strategies for service enhancement.
- Assists in reviewing relevant policy proposals and initiatives from stakeholders and the Government on dispute resolution, and drafts position papers accordingly.
- Prepares papers and reports for the board and committees of the FDRC, including routine and annual reports. Assists in discussions, acts as secretaries to various meetings of the board and committee, manages and supervises support rendered to the board and committees of the FDRC, and implements resolutions and decisions as required.
- Assists in delivering services of the FDRC by acting as in-house mediators for the FDRC, and/or participating in the mediation and arbitration as arranged and offered by the FDRC.
- Promotes the services of the FDRC.
- Devises, organizes, and supervises training offered to mediators and arbitrators on the FDRC’s list of mediators and arbitrators.
- Undertakes ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- University degree or above.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in dispute resolution, with knowledge of legal services and/or financial services, particularly in banking, securities, and insurance products.
- Accredited mediator (experience in arbitration practices and relevant training would be an advantage).
- Strong team player with sound managerial and interpersonal skills; mid-level management experience is a plus.
- Strong command of written English and Chinese.
- Experience in research writing and writing policy papers is an added advantage.

Case Officer
Key Responsibilities
- To provide frontline administrative support in the provision of FDRC mediation and arbitration services, including:
- handling of telephone and walk-in enquiries
- conducting interviews/briefings for enquirers, applicants and parties
- gathering information and vetting claim applications
- preparing letters, reports, case summaries and statistics
- liaising with parties of mediation/arbitration cases
- managing the mediation and arbitration process under FDRS
- To administer and maintain the database for enquiries, cases and mediators/arbitrators;
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
Experience and Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent
- Relevant working experience, preferably in fields related to complaint handling, dispute resolution, legal services or financial services
- Completed training or accreditation in mediation and/or arbitration would be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of sincerity, maturity, self-motivation, organization and patience
- Ability to cope with pressure, tight deadlines and multi-tasks
- Proficiency in English and Chinese language (Putonghua and Cantonese preferred)
- Proficiency in office PC applications
