(31 March 2014, Hong Kong) - Financial Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) announced today the appointment of Mr Philip Leung Kwong Hon as its Board Director, following the resignation of Ms Connie Lau Yin Hing from the FDRC's Board.
Mr Leung is active in serving the community. In his capacity as the Vice-Chairman of the Consumer Council, he has been committed to enhancing protection of consumer interests. Currently, he is also the Director of Information Technology Services at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Ms Teresa Cheng Yeuk Wah, Chairman of the FDRC, welcomed Mr Leung to the FDRC’s Board, “We are delighted to be joined by Mr Leung. We believe that with his ample experience in consumer protection, Mr Leung will provide valuable guidance to the FDRC on ways to improve our mediation and arbitration services for resolving disputes between financial consumers and financial institutions.”
“We would also like to thank Ms Lau for her outstanding support and guidance towards the smooth launch and operation of the FDRC during her term of office as a Board Director,” Ms Cheng added.
Mr Leung is appointed on an ad personam basis for a term of two years with effect from 31 March 2014.
