Appointment to the Board of Financial Dispute Resolution Centre
(30 August 2019) - Financial Dispute Resolution Centre (FDRC) announced the appointment of Mr. Richard LEUNG Wai-keung, JP as a Director of the FDRC Board for a two-year term from 1 September 2019 to 31 August 2021. Mr. Richard LEUNG will succeed Mr. Frederick KAN Ka-chong who will retire from the Board with effect from 1 September 2019.
Mr. Richard LEUNG has practiced as a barrister since 1994. He is currently an accredited mediator of the Mediation Council of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and a chartered arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (HKIAC, AIAC, SCIA, SHIAC, TJAC). Mr. LEUNG possesses extensive experience in handling mediation and arbitration cases covering commercial, construction and various aspects. He was also the Past Chair of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (East Asia Branch) in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 terms.
Meanwhile, FDRC expresses its sincere gratitude to Mr. Frederick KAN for his valuable contribution to FDRC as a Director and chairman of the Appointment Committee over the past six years, particularly his solid guidance on matters relating to the admission, standard and professional development of mediators and arbitrators on the FDRC Lists.
