Mr Ivan Cheung is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over thirty years construction and engineering industry experience. He has specialised in contract advisory and dispute resolution services since 1999. He practises as arbitrator, adjudicator, mediator, dispute resolution advisor and expert witness to facilitate resolution of construction and engineering disputes.
Mr Cheung has a background in contracting and consulting for a broad range of projects across South East Asia and the UK. He has provided services for various buildings projects, including interior fit out and electrical and mechanical works for government and private developers, as well as infrastructure, power and utilities projects.
His specific experience includes acting as expert witness on quantum issues for the purpose of arbitration or court proceedings on numerous construction and engineering disputes which include single joint expert witness in one arbitration and three high court proceedings that his reports have been jointly accepted by the parties or by the judges. He has acted as arbitrator in several construction disputes and has been frequently appointed as mediator on a variety of commercial disputes. He also practises as an adjudicator and is an experienced dispute resolution advisor in public projects.
Mr Cheung held various committee memberships including council member of the Hong Kong Mediation Council, a sub-division of the HKIAC and the chairman of its construction group. He is also an experienced trainer in the field of construction contracts, dispute management and mediation.
